Saturday night was date night … my favorite night of the week. It had been a lounge around kind of day, so we decided to keep it low key with pizza & bowling. We headed to Russo’s New York Pizzeria in Kingwood for dinner — had not been there before, but I heard they had gluten free pizza so I was in! They had so many different topping options, it was hard to decide what I wanted to try first. I ended up having the gluten free Margherita pizza. It was delish! The crust was thin and had a really good taste, with a slight hint of sweetness. The pizza was loaded with cheese and topped with fresh tomatoes & basil. It really hit the spot! The only catch was that the gluten free pizza’s are only available in the 16″ size, so I ended up eating way too much … and I still had some for lunch the next day! Reheated & paired with a salad, it was just as good as it was the first time around. I was nervous about cross-contamination issues, but all was well … And for any non-gluten free’ers out there, my fiancé said his giant slice of pizza was really good too! This is definitely a new favorite dinner locale! Next time, I think I am going to try the Chicken Rustica pizza — chicken, EVOO, spinach, roma tomatoes, basil, mozzarella cheese & garlic sauce — my mouth is watering already, yum!
