Quite the Tasty History 

Believe it or not, there’s nothing new about cheesecake or the holiday in which we recognize just how amazing and delicious it is. As a treat, the earliest incarnations date back all the way to Ancient Greece in 200 A.D. The dish consisted of bread and soft cheese. As time waits for no one, the cheesecake eventually spreads throughout a variety of different lands, and variations of the desert soon follow. In Italy, the dish is made with Ricotta cheese, and in Germany and Poland, the dish is commonly referred to as a “Quark.” As for the day on which this tasty dish is celebrated, it was introduced in 1985. However, it wasn't until the advent of the internet and social media in the early 2000s that the dessert holiday finally got recognized by many different people. 

A Variety of Tastes 

In this day and age, there are many different versions of cheesecake that are served to hungry diners in a variety of different ways. The most common is cheesecake served with cherries and sauce, though some of the more decadent options consist of chocolate, peanut butter, and other toppings. In recent years, vegan-friendly cheesecake options have been introduced with non-dairy cheeses, allowing people who abstain from animal products to gorge and be happy.
